Fireworks in the city were forbidden, because there were many fire in Edo. However, only along the Sumidagawa River was permitted. On May 28, Kyoho 18, the Sumidagawa river opened, and at this time a cooking shop near the Bridge brought fireworks. The river opening of the Ryogoku Bridge would be an annual event as the 3 months from May 28 to August 28, allowing the boat and the fireworks to be raised on the first day. In addition, "Tamaya" is the name of the fireworks shop at that time.
