Kuniteru Utagawa the 1st generation

A disciple of Kunisada Utagawa (Toyokuni Utagawa the 3rd generation).
The period of drawing was from Bunsei to Ansei, and named Sadashige Utagawa at first.

He drew a lot of children's Nishikie, and pictures for teaching until Koka 4th.
He signed "Kuniteru, changed by Sadashige" in "The Flower Enchantment in the festival" from Tenpo 14th (1843) to Koka 4th (1847), when the resignation was only the master of the single seal. So he seemed to change his name from Sadashige to Kuniteru.
After changed to Kuniteru, from Kaei to Ansei, he worked on a number of war illustrations and also drew beauty women pictures and actor pictures.

Furthermore, he changed the name to Kunihiko the 2nd, in Ansei 2nd (1855), and signed “Kunihiko as Kuniteru” on such as "Today's Beauty Women" on June Ansei 2nd. In addition, he competed with Yoshitsuya Utagawa and drew sketches of a tattoo.
