Tamamo-mae, the Empress of Emperor Toba, was the nine-tailed fox youkai. After Tamamo-mae fled, the Emperor regained his health. However, after that, there was a case where women and children were taken away one after another around Nasuno. It was Tamamo-mae's work. The Imperial Court sent a subjugation army with Tsunetane Chiba and Yoshiaki Miura as generals. However, the power of nine-tailed fox witchcraft was enormous and caused a lot of damage. Nevertheless, the subjugation army gradually drove the youkai with the help of Onmyoji, Yasunari Abe. Then, a fox appeared as a woman in the dream of the army’s general and begged for forgiveness. The general thought that the youkai were weak and took an offensive, and finally defeated the Youkai. The nine-tailed fox flew away as a poison stone even after death, and did not keep people near. After 200 years, the great priest prayed and the stone's power finally disappeared. Tamamo-mae is said to be one of the three great Youkai in Japan.
