In 1203, the early days of the Kamakura period, the second shogun Yoriie Minamoto held the large hunting at the foot of Mt. Fuji. At that time, Yoriie ordered Shiro Nitta to explore the cave on Mt. Fuji. At the foot of Mt. Fuji, there are deep forests, ice holes, and caves, and it was said that Asama Daibosatsu God lives there. Shiro Nitta led five men into the cave. The inside was dark and damp, and as Shiro and his subordinates went on, they saw a lot of moving things. When they looked at it using a torches, many snakes were moving. As the Shiro and the others avoid the snake and proceed, countless bats pop out from the back. As Shiro and others went further, a large river was flowing in the back. Suddenly, the opposite bank shined and four of Shiro’s subordinates fell down one after another and died. Shiro and the other one hurriedly left. After a while, there was a big pond and a large snake came out. When Shiro confronted with the sword he got from Yoriie, the serpent turned into a goddess. She was the true identity of Mt. Fuji, Asama Daibosatsu Goddess. The Goddess led Shiro to the outside world, so Shiro managed to get home.
