This is a dynamic picture drawn by Kyosai Kawanabe, a genius artist who was called “demon artist”.
Kyosai became a disciple of Kuniyoshi Utagawa at the age of six.
When he was eight, it was said he picked up a dead head in the Kanda River and drew a sketch to surprise the surroundings.
After that, he studied painting with the Kano school, and was told that "there is nothing that cannot be drawn."
This is a picture of the Mongolian Army attacking Kyushu Hakata during the Kamakura period.
The Mongolian Army attacked Hakata Bay twice in 1274 and 1281.
The Mongolian army, which is light and lean, caused a great deal of trouble for Japanese samurai, but it is said that the Mongolian army had suffered from storms and plagues then withdrew.
It is also said that the Mongolian Army was a mixed army with Nan Song and Kiurai, and it was difficult to control it.
