It is said that Tametomo Minamoto was the strongest samurai in Japanese history.
He was 2 meters and 10 centimeters tall and has been wild man since childhood.
His father Tameyoshi felt him out of hand, and he was sent to Kyushu at the age of 13.
Then, Tametomo repeated battles on his own and took control of Kyushu in three years and named himself Chinzei Hachiro. (Kyushu conquer)
At the time of the rebellion in Hougen, he was recalled by his father and fought in the side of Pre Emperor Sutoku.
“Night attack is good way to win,” he said, but he was not accepted.
He regretted, “My elder brother Yoshitomo knows the battle well, he must attack at night.”
Yoshitomo Minamoto who was in the side of Emperor Go-Shirakawa as the enemy, attacked the night as expected, and the Pre Emperor Sotoku side was in chaos.
Tametomo was the master of the big bow, played very active role in kicking the army of Kiyomori Taira, but his allies were defeated and he was caught.
Tametomo was sent to Izu Oshima as punishment.
But he took control of Izu 7 islands, did not pay his annual tribute, and reigned for 10 years.
The Heishi government sent army to defeat him.
Tametomo sunk a 30-seater ship with one bow and arrow. After that, he said “I have already rampaged.”, and it is said he had suicidal.
but there is a legend that he went to Ryukyu and became the first Ryukyu king.
