During the Genroku era in the Edo period, there was a girl named “Aki”, the daughter of a candy store in Koamicho, Nihonbashi. Aki was bright since she was a child, and learned haiku from the age of 9. When she was 13 years old, she made the Haiku, watching the people who drunk and helped each other, and the following phrase was caught by Shinnou in Ueno. "Near the well. take care with Sakura for Sake drunk" After that, Aki had been often called by Ueno to write haiku and became a popular woman in Edo. Aki determined her haiku name, "Shushoku," and she had become a popular person because of her beauty and talent. When she was called to Ueno, she can be permitted to ride on the basket, and one day she took her father. On my way home from Ueno, her father was walking because he couldn't get into the basket, but Aki suddenly complained of stomachache. When the basket stopped, she got down, and she let her father ride on the basket, she put on a hat, pretended to be her father, and walked home. Aki was a very kind and gentle woman.
