At the end of the Heian period, there was a sad story of a beautiful woman in Kyoto. Kesa Gozen was a very beautiful woman who served the Imperial Court. Morito Endo, a samurai on the north side of the Court, was deeply in love at the glance of Kesa Gozen. However, Kesa Gozen became the wife of Morito’s colleague Wataru Minamoto. Morito could not give up and approached her. She refused many times, but Morito said, "I will kill your mother and I will also die." "I have husband. If my husband doesn't die, I won't be able to meet your request," Kesa Gozen was in trouble in her mind, and said. One day, Morito sneaked into Wataru’s mansion and slashed his head in the dark. However, when he saw it in the light, the head was Kesa Gozen. Kesa Gozen was in trouble and she sacrificed herself to protect her mother and husband. Morito regretted violently, and he became a monk, named Mongaku Shonin, then mourning Kesa Gozen for all of his life as a monk.
