Ikkei Shosai was said to be Hiroshige Utagawa’s disciple.
His activity period was short, and the works are valuable as historical material.
A small hill located in Sensoji Temple was Benten Mountain, and Benzaiten was enshrined.
Benzaiten is normally placed in the island of the pond, and also the Benten mountain of Sensoji was once in the pond.
Currently it is landfilled. Benzaiten was originally from Hindu goddess incorporated into Buddhism, and in Japan it is considered to be the god of wisdom, longevity, and wealth as one of the seven deities of good fortune.
